This must have been an exercise to aid individuals to express themselves and it was video taped. I did not think it funny....a bit confusing actually. The kids seems to be having fun, and, if so, I am happy for them.
Why did you post this?

this topic is the kind that one could write and read about forever.
however, i don't think i'll be able to last that long.. my son is 38 years old.
he is intelligent and , i believe, very sensitive.
Tigerman,
Many JWs do well financially. This is the paradox: the ones that do well financial are "respected" more than those that sacrifice all for the Org. The Org works very hard to promote jobs that mean low pay, brain dead work, and a situation to pass out thier literature. Yet, the ones that do this are only held in high regard within the officail framework of the Society. In the perephial though, it is the ones that make the money that have the muscle amoung the brothers.
Also, parents that make money have kids that spend time in service. They get the best of both worlds: the good pay is justified in the fact that literature is being passed out....weird.
My take is this, and, forgive my honesty: your son may just be a bit of an "ass." That is possible, however, it is not a favorable thought. If he is, the JWs just magnify this aspect, if it is one...
Well, that is my take...I am really too tired to post, however, your thoughts hit a nerve: I have meditated on this a great deal.
JWs that get rich get respect in this system, a hellava lot of comfort, a great time at the District Conventions: good food, entertainment, etc, and they get a chunk of Rutherford's Mythical Paradise.
Can't get much better than that can it?
Hang tough and good luck with your son,

you could have stupid new light every week published and the vast majority aren't going anywhere.
you could see proof of contradiction after contradiction right in front of your nose, if you're a witness.
and you still won't budge.. the reason: mental and spiritual laziness.
I was forty years in figuring this out:
Salvation lies in supporting the Organization....I ALWAYS thought the teaching of the Org caused a saving work....wrong....supporting it is the key. "My Organization right or wrong...."
Silly me,
V
my hubby went to a spanish congo and it seems that they operate a little differently.
is this accurate?
example, i don't think my father in law goes out in service, and he's a big ol' witness.
Kind of a side thought: the Roman Catholic Church, here in Monett, has a Mexican priest. He is a very loving, highly educated, and nice man: maybe thirty five or so....
They have two English and one Spanish mass. The dress is what is wierd. The English (all white and a few Philipinos (families of doctors that moved to area years ago). The English where suits and blue jeans and western shirts. The English women are conservativly dressed for the most part. They are a bit more causual than the Protastants, here.
The Spanish are lipstick, cleavage..... a LOT of cleavage, TIGHT fitting pants, and westen.
I ask an English woman about this, a cradle Roman that is very conservative, and she said the Spanish "dressed like hookers."
Anyhow....this is just sort of an odd thing....and kinda funny...not just the JWs it appears.

it means that within relatively few years we will witness the fulfillment of the remaining prophecies that have to do with the "time of the end.".
the lead article "the finest work on earth" in the october 1967 km (p. 1) continued the theme of preaching with a sense of urgency:.
the sense of urgency was effective in getting some students to make a decision.
What a GREAT post: this is the best post on "75 I have seen: this one is headed to my JW file right now. Thanks, Alan and whomever brought this post forward to the top of list.

i don't know if it's this time of year and i'm in serious need of a break, but i wake up exhausted in the morning and fall into bed a night.
anyone else feeling like this?
i't 15h00 in the afternoon and i'm ready for bed.
Almost every minute of every day, however, with our active five year old....it is not going to happen. If you are sleepy, have no distractions, then, fall into the sheets and enjoy the bliss of a long snooze: wish I could.

hey everyone!!!
it has been awhile since i have posted here at jwd.
life has been an adjustment these last two years.
Hi!
Vernon Williams, here, new to the board...
Is your "bio" posted somewhere?

i mean, there is so much bullshit talk on this site, and every time there comes up an opportunity to take some action, you all just wus out.
what will it take for you all to get a spine and do something?
write a letter or email to this paper and let them know how you feel about their article.
Hey, bro
Listen, there are a lot of ways of handling this: I apprciate your frustration, however, we are all at different points "in Journey" and the one thing I am learning is patience with everyone especially myself.
Right now, I am so overwhelmed that one more thing and I think my head will explode. I post here, mainly, for the "lurkers" and to encourage as I can. It is one way of showing I care. We all need comfort or a place to vent or explain....work it out. This is a great site for all those things...and, if you want, discussing whether or not you shave your pubic hair: not a thing I plan on commenting on, but, it is all ok....
Here is something I have found: the WT effects a few a LOT and it effects the vast, vast majority NOT AT ALL. Many times we are shouting "FIRE" when it appears a flickering match to the people looking. We are hyper sensitive and with very good cause: we know what happens when the match meets some dry material.
That is all: I am exhausted and will be up in a few hours.
With you in this Struggle,
V
Well...
Judge Rutherford's mythical paradise and the road to it.
To enter:
Follow the exit marked "Delusion."
Continued straight ahead until you reached the destination marked:
"NOT!!"
Yours in this Journey, and, on the right path now,
